Bare Witness by Jaide Mckriel
Flowers sang like she used to
Melodies lapped up
The sweetness of maple syrup
Golden-brown leaves twinkle
In the blink of an eye
Beholder blinded by the flashing light
A savoury love affair
Spotted in the courtyard
A witness flees on the back of a flea
Lady transported back to her room
The green toad jumps from her throat
She croaks the unthinkable
She has seen the unspeakable
